The Treasure Hunt

This is a dream I had last night, so bear with me... As I'm sitting in a room, my friends sit around me and tell me how lucky I am to have him. For a minute my mind pauses, and a wave of indescribable joy overcomes my me. I look to the side, blushing like never before and reply with a low-toned, "I know." They all pause, stare at me, then laugh out loud, thinking I'd made a joke. I pull my serious face at them and sternly repeat what I said. Next thing you know, I'm flooded with questions and lectures on finding love and blah blah blah... They don't understand what I feel, they never did anyway. I went over to my guy's place to be greeted by the smell of good food that reminded me of home. In the lounge, the furniture's been removed and a blanket decorated with wine glasses, cutlery, plates and a huge bouquet of red roses is professionally laid on the floor. Calling his name over three times with no response, I ask myself if he had company or was expecting company after I'm gone. I walk up to my room to find a note addressed to me on the bed attached to a rose. It read, "Just thought I should surprise you again. This time, it's a treasure hunt. Follow all the clues and you just might find the treasure on the way. The first clue is in the bathroom. Take a look.". He knew which buttons to press, because a rush of adrenaline ran through my veins and a wave of curiosity flooded my thoughts. I walked into the bathroom to find another note attached to a rose on the edge of a bath tub filled with hot water covered with bubbles. I smell lavender and chocolate, the smell is heavenly. The next note read, "I know you had a long day shopping and listening to your friends talking. Lol. Take a breather and relax. Don't look for me when you're done. Head straight to your room when you've finished. P.S. Don't wear make-up, you know how much I hate it." After spending about thirty minutes in the bath, I hopped out, and rushed back to my room to be greeted once again by a note attached to a rose. This one read, "I bought you a new set of PJs I thought would look gorgeous on you, try it on! I hope you'll like it. Head to the lounge when you're done dressing up." In my closet I found a pink pyjama set that looked too adorable! The shirt had a hoodie attached to it and on the back it had my nickname sewn on. I laughed and tried them on. I wonder how he got my size right because it fit perfectly. I put on my bunny slippers, tied my hair up into a high pony, and headed downstairs. I walk downstairs and find a trail of rose petals leading to the lounge and find the lounge in the same state it was when I came in. Only this time, he sat on the floor with his Action Man pyjamas on. Lol, he looked so cute! Anyway, I laughed and told him I'd been looking for him, and that he looks great. He smiled and said I looked great too. I sat next to him admiring the food served on the plates. We sat on the floor and ate our dinner, laughing away at how our day folded out. I don't know what it was but he looked at me so strangely and I started feeling uncomfortable. So to break the ice, I asked him if I can get the treasure I'd been searching for so desperately. He said I had to collect all the clues and figure out what the treasure was before I could get it. That meant I had to go back up and fetch them from my room, which I did... When I came back down, our favorite song was playing and he invited me to dance with him. That was a really awesome moment because I'd never felt so comfortable making a fool out myself in front of him before. Then we sat down on the floor and I placed the clues in front of me. I asked him to help me figure out what the treasure was, he said he couldn't do it because he doesn't want to give it away that easily. Knowing me, it took a while trying to get what all this meant. He saw that I was struggling and pointed out the clues to me, " Okay, in the first clue I mentioned something about you going shopping with your girls. Remember the day we met? You sat next to me on a bench and complained about how long your day was shopping and listening to your girls talk. Today seemed like the perfect day to do this since that's what you did. In the second clue, I asked you to take a breather. On our first date, you mentioned how much you loved the smell of lavender and chocolate. I got a friend of mine to make a customized bottle of bubble bath with lavender and cocoa essence. I hope you liked it. The third clue was easy to remember (laughs). The day we were supposed to go to my parents place, remember? I came over to pick you up and you had your Barbie PJs on and were in a panic because you didn't know what to wear. You also didn't want me to see you because you had no make-up on... I had to sit and wait for your for an hour to find that you'd settled with a simple pair of jeans and a top. (laughs). that was a funny time for me..." After laughing at the memories, I asked him what it all meant. That's when he said, "You've had some big moments in your life that you'd expect me to never forget. I haven't forgotten them, I just also pay attention to the small things you do. The three clues represent the three years we'd been together, and at this point I'm anticipating more. So to make sure that happens, I have the treasure to give me a hand...
